Kwetu Africa is run by the Ugandan artist and designer Sanaa Gateja. He up-cycles old books, magazines and posters into sophisticated wearable art pieces and bags, a style he refers to as “Art Wear”.

He also works with basket weavers in the gorilla conservation forests to produce intricately crafted baskets with patterns inspired by farming terraces on the hillsides. Kwetu creates employment for numerous women in Uganda.

Moyo was conceived ten years ago as a Tanzanian design house ethically handcrafting Swahili inspired home decor and fashion accessories.

Using the vibrantly patterned African wax textiles, Moyo combines a traditional African aesthetic with contemporary design to result in a unique and quirky product range.

Following fair trade principals and a philosophy of sustainability, Moyo repurposes most of its waste and utilizes various recycled materials in its production process.

Easy Afric Designs is a socially motivated Fair Trade business Enterprise based in Uganda, producing high quality products branded LUSUSU. The company produces fashion accessories, soft furnishings, décor and gift items made out of the Ugandan cultural heritage fabric, Barkcloth.

Barkcloth is a unique cultural heritage fabric, sustainably harvested from the Fig tree species; Ficus Natelensis’, locally known as ‘Mutuba’ tree.

The Lususu bark cloth is reinforced, enriched and complemented with handcrafted decoration using natural and eco-friendly fibers and fabrics.
