Rishilpi was founded in 1977 to improve the lives of the ‘untouchable’ Rishi caste. Presently the company works with more than 4.000 artisans in Southwest Bangladesh, making a wide range of handmade products.

 

From Palm Leaf baskets to Jute Macramé bags, all items are carefully crafted by hand from natural materials. The company’s buyers are also welcome to submit their own designs and developments, the company is experienced in product development and subsequent production.

 

Rishilpi is both committed to planet and people and has been able to create a sustainable livelihood for its artisans, while at the same time supplying high quality products for its buyers.

Artisan House brings the best of two worlds together by supplying large quantities that have been responsibly produced by hand.
Using local raw materials from renewable sources, such as jute, seagrass and recycled materials Artisan House aims to reduce its carbon footprint.

 

All production, including weaving and screen-printing, has been organized under one roof and the company even has its own ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) to ensure that all water used in production can be safely put back into the environment.

 

In its commitment to socially- and environmentally responsible manufacturing the company has obtained a number of different certifications.

 

Artisan House has a wide range of designs to choose from and has specialized itself in developing tailor-made products for its international buyers.
