Profile

Her Works showcases the beauty of handicrafts made by women in Laos. The word “HER” emphasizes the hard work of women behind our production process. They harvest, spin and dye natural fibers to weave textiles.

Our home collection integrates contemporary design and unique traditional handicraft skills of Lao ethnic women. We encourage ethical living by using indigenous materials and handmade processes such as embroidery, weaving and hand-stitching.

Her Works is a woman-owned small enterprise based in Vientiane that wants to provide work and income to female producers from the many different ethnic groups in Laos.

Established since 1993 in Solo – Central Java, Indonesia, seeing the potential of the furniture craftsmen in the area, the company founders saw the opportunity to develop ‘partnerships’ with the craftsmen to expand their market coverage from local to global. By so doing, they not only improved the socio-economic conditions of the craftsmen, but also developed a successful business.

This ‘partnership’ production model became the foundation for WISANKA, and has remained to this day. Continuous improvements in control systems in terms of RD&D, Quality Assurance and Fair Trade have also been key to the company’s business success as well as to that of our partners.

Our wide range of production processes, established quality standards, and access to raw materials, make us the perfect ‘one stop shop’ for buyers.
