The Kumudini Handicrafts Centre was established in 1980 with the objective of supporting the fine arts and traditional cottage industries in Bangladesh.

Our forte lies in in our heritage production methods, our raw materials, and the use of vivid vegetable dyes. All production is done by hand, such as block printing and hand embroidery.

It is one of our goals to empower women by creating economic opportunities and to uplift their social footing within their families and society. Kumudini Handicrafts’ Embroidery work is done by women all over Bangladesh, many of whom come from the poorer areas of the country. They are trained by us and have the flexibility of working from home. Kumudini Handicrafts is empowering women all over the country, one artisan at a time.

Since its inception in 2008 Bangla Matti sets a new tone in the terracotta industry in Bangladesh. The artisans making our handmade pottery have been essential in making our company a success.

By training marginalized communities in making pottery, we take responsibility for these families to earn their livelihood. Expanding our business overseas will create opportunities for more artisans across the country.

Clay comes in a variety of different textures and colors. We collect the best quality clay from several sources to ensure the right raw material for each specific product we make.

Our experience in a wide range of finishes helps to complete all the products we craft.
You can choose from existing designs, but we can also help you to develop your own collection of terracotta products.
