Founded by two childhood friends in the year 2000, with a shared passion for contemporary design and the beauty of things made by hand, we created ‘KAYULAMA’, which means ‘old or used wood’. Under our KAYULAMA brand, we design and manufacture contemporary, solid wood furniture, respecting and highlighting the special skills of Indonesian workmanship and culture.

Driven by our commitment to sustainability, we mainly utilize teak and pine from reclaimed timber and FSC sources, combined with our environmentally responsible production processes.

Social responsibility for our staff and stakeholders is an integral part of who we are, and is a thread that runs through all aspects of how we conduct our business.

Established since 1993 in Solo – Central Java, Indonesia, seeing the potential of the furniture craftsmen in the area, the company founders saw the opportunity to develop ‘partnerships’ with the craftsmen to expand their market coverage from local to global. By so doing, they not only improved the socio-economic conditions of the craftsmen, but also developed a successful business.

This ‘partnership’ production model became the foundation for WISANKA, and has remained to this day. Continuous improvements in control systems in terms of RD&D, Quality Assurance and Fair Trade have also been key to the company’s business success as well as to that of our partners.

Our wide range of production processes, established quality standards, and access to raw materials, make us the perfect ‘one stop shop’ for buyers.
